We are incredibly excited to announce that as of February 21, 2017 Cambridge is officially NCA CASI accredited by AdvancED, and Cambridge is now the ONLY management company in Ohio to receive accreditation! And accreditation will be granted to ALL current and all new Cambridge Education Group schools. Invictus Unlawfully Terminates Contract

CLEVELAND, OH—November 1, 2016, Invictus High School has unlawfully terminated their management contract with Cambridge. Their termination letter did not include any legitimate cause for termination as is explicitly required in the agreement nor did it provide the requisite 30-day time period for Cambridge to cure any issue. Cambridge Education Group has unfortunately had to take legal action against the Invictus High School board and the board members individually for this unlawful termination. Invictus and its attorney, April Hart, have argued that Cambridge has steered Invictus’s business to vendors who they believe have “a conflict of interest” with the management company. Colonial Prep Named Momentum Award Winners!

AKRON, OH—On May 16, 2016, the Ohio Department of Education named Colonial Preparatory Academy as Momentum Award winners based on their 2014–2015 Ohio School Report Card. The Momentum Award recognizes schools that have received A’s on every value-added measure included on Ohio’s School Report Cards. Colonial Prep is one of the first winners of this award, making Colonial Prep part of an elite group of schools that are demonstrating that children of every background and ability level can achieve. Core Subject Teachers are 100% Highly Qualified

Since the 2006–2007 school year, under the No Child Left Behind Act, Ohio schools are required to have 100% of core subjects taught by Highly Qualified Teachers (HQT). And charter schools are no exception. Core subjects include reading, English language arts, math, science, foreign language, government, economics, fine arts, history and geography. Teachers can meet the federal HQT definition in two ways: 1. Be fully licensed in the area they teach and fulfill qualifications designated on the HQT Worksheet Form(s) A-E; or 2. Be fully licensed in the area they teach and if eligible, achieve 100 points on either the Ohio HQT Abbreviated or Expanded Rubric.
